worst birthday of my life. ever.

woke up to the sound of rain on my basha. all my stuff wet. groundsheet soaked through.

huddled in the tentage for 3 hours trying to keep warm. ate a warm but unappetising breakfast. then as soon as the rain stopped, it was firing movement in the mud, elbows knees and most importantly groin getting drenched in muddy water.

the worst part is that underwear takes forever to dry. definitely not comfortable.

then it rained again.

then to lift our spirits, OC decided to have a fire movement competition. top 2 teams get to go back to company line a day earlier.

we chionged for all that it was worth. up and down for a few practice runs... pants and shirt all caked with clay.

and we placed 3rd.

...is actually quite irritating. other than my starting pokemon, the ones that ive caught so far are weak and pathetic.

also too many random encounters.

but still... nostalgia... the good old days.

ok so field camp next week and then right after that nus law interview and written test. woot. if all does not go well, i will be rushing to my interview, dripping sweat in my long fours, LBV and helmet and reeking from the BO of 4 days without a bath.

spidey 3 looks good. prob gonna watch it next week... just in time for my belated birthday! all i need to do is rely on wai leong to book the tix for us...

yes so we'll prob be watching it 2-3 weeks later.

POC3 looks kinda... boring somehow. only cos the trailer isnt rly showing much. hopefully there are more good parts in the movie. im scared that they will screw it up.

on the other hand... watching chow yun fat say: "WELCOME TO SINGAPORE!" rocks. singapore? pirate haven? base of the pirate lord/god of gamblers/bulletproof monk/siamese king?

ok so right now i cant run properly. for the past 2 days ive been hobbling around like an idiot wincing at every stride.

but thats because ive got gold.

yes for the first time in my life, gold for ippt.

im as surprised as anyone else. ive been noticing for a while that i dont become so tired that i feel like puking after running 2.4 lately... so i tried increasing my pace slowly. on wed, i did 10 pull ups for the first time and thought: "wow if i get below 9.45 for 2.4 i can get gold"

then the encik announced that all those who get gold are ensured a nights off. the rest get it too if we get 97% pass rate.

so i piaed.

first time i broke the 10 min mark.

in the end we had a 98% pass rate. from 35 failures from the last ippt to 2... thats wat i call improvement.

ok so im not so sure what my timing is. im 2 positions behind a guy who ran 9.32... so either i just barely got gold or just missed by a second or 2.

field camp next week. i strangely dont feel so bad. not that my morale high. ill prob feel worse tmr arnd book in time.

nav ex was a bitch. cant find some shitty sign on some shitty tree in the middle of a jungle at night.

just found out this week that im in the non-aslc company.

ok so we knew from day 1 that the next aslc batch will live in the comfy domains of hotel and bravo coy. we were told many many LIES that:

a) majority of us are going aslc
b) abt 30% of us are going aslc
c) they will take the absolute best from each coy and they go aslc
d) they will take the absolute worst from each coy and they go aslc
e) they will take the best and the worst meaning its the mediocre ppl who are safe
f) the brushes on the sides of escalators are not for cleaning shoes but to prevent dust from falling in

now my new platoon sgt has enlightened us that golf coy is non-alsc thus majority of us will be safe.

however, bravo n hotel are the aslc batch, majority of them will be staying on in the same coy, platton, bunk and bed. for 11 more months of chiong sua.

so yes im sorry edmond, jason, kegan, yu xuan, melvin and whoever else is in bravo n hotel. my best advice is get injured.

been really reluctant to blog recently cos i think it would just be an emo entry. I am blogging now cos i feel abit better about being in sispec.

ok currently, from all the horror stories ive heard, im sorta glad im not in ocs and not having to suffer 3 weeks confinement in hell. sispec is not that shiong yet. the sgts are nice. my bunkmates r nice. just that there are some other ppl who r abit screwed up.

that includes mr hcjc argument boy who wasted an hour of everyone's time trying to get a straight answer out of some high ranking sirs.

ok so im in sispec. gonna be a sgt. im dreading the time when ill be asked in my scholarship/uni interview "why r u not in ocs?". poor darius was asked this impossible question.

would it have been better for me to just be a man. somehow being a sispec warrior means that im some guy who was not good enough for ocs or something.

ok enough of this. having a nintendo ds is cool. custom robo ftw!
