urg im so lazy. too lazy to blog rly.
hmmm my mom just made a "shhhhht" sound. its coming from the living room so ill assume shes playing puzzle bobble 2 on my ps2. ill go and check.
yep shes playing puzzle bobble. how abt that. playing a ps1 game on a ps2 when right now theres alrdy ps3.
anyway one of the games im definitely getting if ever i get a ps3 is
THIS. tho the whole
customizability thing is not rly my cup of tea... id rather structured lvls. but web 2.0 is all cool. i hope that i can still manage customizability with a pirated copy of the game. no doubt some ppl with a shitload of time on their hands will create kickass ultimate lvls.
anyway i dlded
its a wonderful world. looks awesome. havent rly tried it out yet tho. not sure if theyll come out an eng ver of this game. it seems abit too hard to anglicize considering the whole shibuya and j-hiphop feel to it. and cool theres a char named joshua tho he looks like a faggoty bishi punk. hmmm if they havent announced plans to release an eng version yet means their never going to do so. oh well. ill try to make do with not understanding a shit abt the story.
also i went and got myself a screen protector. i also went to brasso my screen first to get rid of the scratches. good news is the brasso did sorta work and the scratches were not as deep. bad news is the screen protector somehow covers up scratches so i shouldnt have bothered and now theres brasso gunk under the protectors so its like large specks of dirt i can get rid of.
also the screen protector doesnt hide the fact that the surface of the touch screen is now less than smooth.
urg why didnt i get a screen protector from day 1? nvm its all still good. just need to wait for all the kickass games to come out, like
ff12:rw and
tales of innocence.

i havent rly blogged in a long time. i realised that if i start blogging again it will all be abt geek stuff which most ppl would not understand/would not want to know... but to hell with it. if u understand or even empathise with the rest of this following entry, u win 1337 internets.
now then... been watching some movies lately tho not in a cinema. first its transformers 1986, the cartoon movie where optimus prime dies etc.... well i was kinda disappointed. it felt like a rather shoddy work. yes i know it was 1986 but back then there was
an american tail and
the land before time, all extremely well animated and very well shaded pieces of work. whilest the transformer movie was abt the same quality as a regular transformer episode. animation was stiff, lines were corny and childish, pacing was chaotic and incongruent... urg.
it was a slipshod money spinner aimed at killing off last season's line of transformers toys and advertising the newer models to the little kiddies.
somehow i rmb it being better when i watched snippets of it years ago... sort of the same feeling i had with reboot, just much worse. at least reboots storyline submerged into melodrama near the end. i hardly shed a tear when optimus died, i was like "meh, watever". whereas i do get goosebumps when i see bob jettisonned into space.
aaaaand shit i just realised i cant find reboot. damn. is it all with edmond? i thot he returned the first 2 seasons.
i guess i just watched it for nostalgia's sake. also fun watching leonard "mr spock" nemoy, orson "multiple oscar winner and greatest hollywood legend" welles, and eric "always look on the bright side of life" idle play robots in a downright campy film.
anyway next i watched 5cm per second by anime god shinkai makoto. omg his storytelling is brilliant. well ive only watched the first of the 3 eps of 5 cm per second so i cant judge for the whole "movie" but damn. he takes such a simple story and transforms it into.... something absolutely magical. u can really feel the emotion and anxiety of the main character. imo this tops even his masterful voices of a distant star. a simple yet beautiful story about love, distance and time... just abt all of shinkai's works are abt love distance and time... and trains. but damn does he do it so beautifully... especially the trains.
animation was not as good as beyond the clouds tho. less of his famous lighting effects of glare on metal surfaces on TRAINS. also im not sure if this was part of the original raw or the actual film's fault (doesnt seem like its the encoder's fault) but there were some technical glitches on the version i watched. alot of inexplicable still frames at the start of scenes.
next i watched saikano live action. again severely disappointed. the guy playing shuuji is a dick. hes not good looking and he overacts more than a pro wrestler. nobody walks like that after twisitng an ankle! if he were to do that limp in front of an mo he would definitely be charged with malingering. also some of the parts are soooo cheesy. like having the guy suddenly swerve away from the running crowd, run another 5 metres away from the rest and bang his head on the pillar and start bleeding. really the acting is so affected and fake. also did they have to waste away so much of their budget on cgi? the cgi is beautiful but seriously why dont u just use real breaking glass for exploding windows instead of cgi? the only saving grace... chise. rather well done imo. or maybe she just looks good when compared to the shitty shinji.
o yea and the mobs r great too. very convincing mob of panicking folk if u ask me...
anyway lastly is airplane! good movie. by the guys who did naked gun. i sooo want to watch police squad, tho they only had 6 eps before it was cancelled. the jokes are hilarious even tho the film is like 20-30 years old? the auto-pilot button of the plane causes and inflatable doll to blow up on the pilots seat and start piloting the plane lol. and the main char who has a drinking problem, i e everytime he tries to drink he misses his mouth and splashes the water into his face. rofl
ok thats it for movies. i sooo want to watch die hard but im too lazy to go to cinema XP. i also want to buy a copy of hot fuzz next time i go to any pirate infested waters (arrrrgh shiver me timbres, xiao di yao mai dvd mah?).
been reading eng comics cos of bishan nbl lately. dc comics seem to be so much better than marvel these days (im not referring to the established series of course, spiderman consistantly > batman/superman), cos they keep reinventing these 2 bit cheesy characters they did in the 50s or something. marvel instead of reviving and reinventing old villains/heores, creates new ones that eventually die off quickly after whatever story event they appeared in never to be seen again. dc has a larger library and mythology to draw from... so its reinvention is going strong. wild storm on the other hand is way too much "child of the 90s" genx/geny crap. good, but i keep getting this feeling they try too hard to be edgy.
i sooo want to see a showdown btw silver surfer and the spectre. both overpowered limitless beings slugging it out. pure pwnage.
im however abit confused abt some of dc's portrayals. like mr freeze. in the cartoon, he is like this melodramtic moody emo guy who is out to steal $$$ to fund research to find a cure for his wife. in the comic hes just this coldblooded emotionless homocidal psycho, with no mention of his wife. well at least hes not like arnie ie the movie's portrayal. if mr freeze was arnie in the comics, hell be like: "hasta la vista batman! ill be bach and soon i will take over all of california and become its governor!"
